About Rotatória

ROTATÓRIA FILMES is an audiovisual production company that aims to decentralize the narrative and workforce of Rio's cinema, prioritizing in its approach the protagonism of commonly marginalized voices, the flirtation with cinematographic genres and the expansion of current debates through a language that contemplates entertainment.

Located in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, the production company informally started its activities in 2014, through the production of no-budget short films. The voluntary initiative has garnered recognition from both the public and critics through festivals around the world and TV broadcastings.

 

Since its formalization in 2019, Rotatória has gone on to its second short film financed by movie grants, one by Lab Curta and the other by Fomento à Artes, both aimed to give a platform to promising filmmakers.
